The US and Ukraine have signed an agreement to create a long-awaited United States-Ukraine-Mineral Reconstruction Fund that gives US rights to the Ukraine Term Earth, both parties announced Wednesday.
Both parties are ready to sign an agreement on critical minerals and other resources but the US said he wanted the Main Mineral Resources Agreement signed and the creation of an investment fund document signed at the same time, said Prime Minister Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and a source at the Ukraine President’s Office.
“The funds will be refilled with contributions from the United States and Ukraine. The profits of these funds will be re -investing exclusively in Ukraine,” Shmyhal said in the position.

President Donald Trump welcomed the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House in Washington, February 28, 2025.

Ukraine has planned to separate the date of signing, because the creation of the Fund Agreement is still being completed, the source added.
“Now they will be in a hurry to finish it,” said the source.
Previously on Wednesday, Ukraine was ready to sign a mineral resource agreement but experienced a last minute obstacle when the US asked to sign a mineral resource agreement and an investment fund agreement at the same time, a Ukrainian official told ABC News. The US denied a series of events in the comments during the President Donald Trump cabinet meeting on Wednesday, “ready to sign” the agreement but Ukraine decided on Tuesday night to “make a few last minutes changes,” Minister of Finance Scott Besent said at the cabinet meeting.
“Our side is ready to sign,” Bessent said.
When asked what was changed, Bessent said there was no “there was no change on our side.”
Trump then included a mineral resource agreement into “context,” talking about the amount of money given by the US for the Ukraine war effort. But he seemed optimistic about the prospect of the agreement that came together.
“But we are not really looking at the fruit of the agreement. I’m suspicious of us,” Trump said.
Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were originally determined to sign a mineral agreement at the end of February, but the plan slipped after the exchange of tension between the two men in the Oval office.
