A federal judge on Tuesday permanently blocked Trump’s administration from upholding the executive order targeting Wilmerhale’s law firm, after deciding the order clearly violated the US constitution.
“The foundation of the American justice system is an independent justice and an independent bar that is willing to handle unpopular cases, however scary. The founders know this!” Writing District Judge Richard Leon, a former President George W. Bush.
“For the reasons set below, I have concluded that this command must be entirely as a whole as a constitutional. Indeed, to govern the opposite is not loyal to the assessment and vision of the founders!”

Leon is now the third judge to bring down one of Trump’s executive orders to target the law firm who has represented his political enemies or employ them.
Wilmerhale previously employed a former special advisor Robert Mueller, who investigated the relationship between the 2016 Russian and Trump campaign.
“In short, the commands and facts made clear that Trump that was not considered by President Wilmerhale about certain causes and company statements about Mueller,” Leon said in his decision on Tuesday. “The order pressed the words that were not liked by imposing severe sanctions on Wilmerhale both directly and indirectly.
It is unclear whether Trump’s government will appeal to Leon’s decision.
