Timberwolves investigated after fans accused of ‘Racial Comment’ against Warriors’ Draymond Green

Minnesota Timberwolves announced in a press release on Friday that the team had launched an investigation after some of their fans violated the code of behavior of NBA fan The second match against the Golden State Warriors On Thursday night in the Western NBA semifinals.

In a statement posted to the Timberwolves PR account at XThe team said that one Minnesota fan was issued during the fourth quarter of the match Thursday night at the target center in Minneapolis, while others left voluntarily before security could identify him, but the investigation was ongoing to determine his identity.

“A fan was issued by the target center security because it violated the code of NBA fan’s behavior in an incident involving Draymond Green. The second person identified by the surrounding customers as a racial comment on the remaining Green itself before the Arena security could confirm its identity. The team continued to investigate additional actions that might be taken,” the statement said.

“Timberwolves and target centers are strongly committed to encouraging an inclusive, respectful and safe environment. For all hate behavior or threatening racist, it does not have a place in our game or in our community, and will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the statement continued.

ABC News has reached Timberwolves and Warriors for additional comments.

Expulsion of fans occurred after Green received fifth technical violations during this year’s playoff during the incident during the second quarter with Timberwolves Center Naz Reid. After Green was violated by Reid, Green seemed to wave his hand and hit Reid’s face with his elbows. During the playoff, a player was automatically suspended for one match after the 7th technical violation.

According to ESPNGreen claimed during a comment to reporters after the match on Thursday that there was a “agenda” against him.

“Looks like an angry black man,” Green said. “I’m not an angry black man. I’m a very successful black man with a great family, and I’m great in basketball and great in what I do.”

“The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s silly,” he added.

The incident occurred during the victory of Game 2 Minnesota in the second half of the NBA playoff, where they defeated the Gold State Warriors 117-93 and leveling the Western Semifinal series at 1-1.

The victory occurred as long as the absence of Warriors Star Steph Curry, who suffered a tense left hamstring and will be re -evaluated in a few days.

Timberwolves and Warriors will face again on Saturday at 8:30 at night ET for Game 3 at Chase Center in San Francisco, Warriors’ house.
