A fan was treated at the hospital Wednesday night after falling from the right field bleach to the field during the seventh inning from the Pirate Baseball match at PNC Park.
The man, who fell about 20 feet, was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, according to a statement from the Department of Public Security Pittsburgh.
The detective from the Pittsburgh police violent crime unit is investigating, the department said.
According to a statement from Pittsburgh Pirates, the man was treated immediately by Pittsburgh EMS, as well as athletic coaches from both teams and PNC Park personnel. He was then transported to the Allegheny General Hospital.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” the team said in a statement.
The incident briefly stopped the game when the emergency crew responded.
