The US Army said that he was looking for an option to make a 250th birthday celebration in June “greater,” with the possibility of demonstrations and vehicle displays at the National Mall in multi-day events that could also include military parade, although officials said no decision was made.
The Army celebration, which has worked for several months, has triggered speculation that President Donald Trump will try to turn the event into a large type of military parade that he wants in his first government. Trump shared his birthday with the Army on June 14.
ABC News has contacted the White House to comment.
DC city officials told reporters this week that they had been approached about the Parade route from Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, to Washington. Two other US officials confirmed the military parade was being discussed, although it was not clear how much the parade was.

“Military tanks on our streets will not be good. If military tanks are used, they must be accompanied by millions of dollars to improve the road,” said Mayor DC Muriel Bowser.
Heather Hagan, a spokesman for the US Army, said Tuesday that the decision about the parade was “pre-decision.” He noted that the Army plans to celebrate the anniversary of its bump with “several events” that led until June 14, including a festival at the National Mall.
“We intend to have a national level celebration to increase pride in America and American army,” he wrote in a statement. “Considering the 250 -year -old important milestone, the Army is exploring options to make more celebrations, with demonstrations that are more capabilities, static equipment appearance, and more involvement with the community.”
Trump 2018 vision for parade including vintage aircraft and fighter jet swooped on the roads of Washington with heavy tanks below. But the event was never realized because city officials pushed back and estimated costs to occupy tens of millions of dollars.
If a parade will be carried out, it will have a significant impact on city infrastructure, according to city officials. Bowser said the 4th road bridge needs to be tested before the event.
The iconic bridge has experienced several significant repairs and maintenance in recent decades, especially after the 1982 Florida Air Florida air accident.
