The White House on Friday released a budget proposed by President Donald Trump for the 2026 fiscal year, which called for a cut of $ 163 billion for federal expenditure.

The Management Office and Budget Director of Russell Vought, in a letter to the Congress with the proposal, said that the cutting of discretionary funds would lead to “significant savings.”

“The president proposed a non-breeding discretionary budget authority of $ 163 billion-22.6 percent under the current year, while continuing to protect funding for the security of the homeland, veterans, seniors, law enforcement, and infrastructure,” Vought wrote.

While the budget proposal is basically a desire for administration, they function to describe the priority of the president and what is expected by the White House is the launch point for negotiations with the congress.

The proposed cut will come from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Services, USAID and the Environmental Protection Agency, among others.

However, Trump proposed a 13% increase for defense expenditure, which would bring it to $ 1.01 trillion for the next fiscal year.

The government also proposed $ 175 billion to go to the southern border.

Senator Patty Murray, the top Democrats at the Senate Allocation Committee, issued a critical statement of President Trump’s budget proposal, stated that the request alarm could cut a program that was very relied on by many Americans.

“President Trump has made his priority clearly as a day: he wants to immediately do a program that helps Americans who work while he tunks a massive tax relief in billionaires like him and raises taxes on middle-class Americans with careless rates,” Murray said in his statement.

“This preliminary budget proposal is very light in the details that we really need – but this is clear: Trump wants to issue the most important program for workers’ families,” Murray said.
