London – Russia launched more than 100 drones to Ukraine after the end of telephone calls between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, said the Ukraine Air Force, and when the world was waiting for what Trump said would be a direct discussion between Moscow and Kyiv.

The Ukraine Air Force wrote in Telegram that its troops shot down 35 of 108 Russian drones launched to the country last night, with 58 further traffic jams or neutralized while on flight. The Air Force reports damage on land in four Ukraine regions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said his troops shot down eight Ukraine drones last night.

Cross -border drone exchange occurs almost night and has increased in size and sophistication throughout the 3 -year -old war. The series of Monday night came even though Trump guaranteed the latest that the peace agreement between the two parties was possible, following a telephone call with Putin which lasted two hours.

“I think something will happen,” Trump told reporters at the oval office after a call. “This is a very, very big ego involved, I say, the big ego involved. But I think something will happen. And if I think President Putin doesn’t want to finish it, I won’t even talk about it because I just withdraw.”

Apart from the failure of peace talks to date – including a chaotic meeting between Ukraine and Russian negotiators in Istanbul, Türkiye, last week – Trump still seemed confident in success.

In a post to the social website of its truth on Monday, Trump said Russia and Ukraine would “soon” start negotiations towards a ceasefire. Kyiv has repeatedly asked for a full 30 day pause for battle to facilitate peace talks. Kremlin has so far avoided the proposal.

When asked if he asked Putin to meet him during the call on Monday, Trump answered, “Of course.”

“I said, ‘When will we end this, Vladimir?'” Trump said. “I said, ‘When will we end this bloodshed, this, this bloodshed?’ That’s bloodshed.

Putin’s own statement did not show signs of concessions. “Russia’s position is clear,” the President said in a statement to the media after the call. “Eliminating the root cause of this crisis is the most important for us,” said Putin, per Kremlin reading.

Trump’s threat to new sanctions against Russia does not seem to encourage Kremlin to move away from its maximum warrior’s goal, which is basically the same as the capitulation of Ukraine.

These demands include the anexation of the four Ukraine regions, which are mostly added to the Crimea retention, which Russia seized in 2014-Demilitarization of Kyiv, a permanent block on Ukraine’s accession to NATO and “denazification” of the country-a vague demand based on Russian fake representations from Ukrinakan Asshienia.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy – With whom Trump also spoke on Monday – had tried to bring Kyiv as ready and willing to make peace, instead of frame Putin as the main barrier to the agreement that Trump wanted.

“This is a decisive time,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post for telegram on Monday. “Now the world can see whether its leaders have the capacity to ensure the end of war and the formation of real and eternal peace.”

“I confirm to President Trump that we in Ukraine are ready for a complete and unconditional ceasefire, because the United States, in particular, has been discussed,” he continued.

“It is important not to weaken this offer. If Russia is not ready to stop the murder, there must be stronger sanctions for it. Pressure on Russia will encourage him to make real peace – this is clear to everyone in the world,” he said.

“We must ensure that Russia is ready to hold such productive negotiations,” wrote Zelensyy. “It is very important for all of us that the United States does not keep away from negotiations and achieve peace, because the only one who is interested in this is Putin.”

If Putin drags or blocks real negotiations, Zelenskyy said, “America and the whole world behave accordingly, including responding with additional sanctions. Russia must end the war that began, and it can do it at any time. Ukraine is always ready for peace.”
