Cities Sanctuary still enforces US federal immigration laws, but the term often refers to limited collaboration with the enforcement of US immigration and customs while imposing a policy that is more beneficial for people who are not documents.

Democrats immediately criticized Trump’s government, on the grounds that the outreach of federal officials had caused detention that violated the law and created fear in society.

“The Republican party has transported before us, mayors from four major American cities to frame them as lawless, because these cities have several limits on how intrusion and aggressive their own officials can carry out operations and responsibilities of federal immigration,” said a member of Gerry Connolly.

“Let us clarify, the state and local law issued by the Republican party currently fully comply with federal law. They do not prevent ICE from carrying out their duties, and they are supported by evidence that shows that they keep people safe.”

Throughout the trial, the mayors take turns maintaining their status, illustrating how they work with law enforcement when arresting while also creates policies that make their city safer.

“As Mayor, I do not control who entered or remained in our country, but I had to manage the population in our city,” said Adams, who said as the Mayor of New York City that he worked with Trump’s administration on immigration assistance. “To carry out this function without carrying out long -term negative activities, I must make an atmosphere that allows every law that is obedient to the population, documented or not to access vital services without fear of being handed over to federal authorities.”

Wu said that Trump’s government made “hard workers, pay taxes, who were afraid of God afraid of living their lives.”

“A city that is afraid is not a safe city. The land governed by fear is not a free land,” Wu said.

The Wednesday Committee session came when President Trump’s administrative official Donald had increased their immigration upholding efforts with Attorney General Pam Bondi closed the federal grant to the asylum cities and various threats “Tsar Border” Tom Homan had issued this Mayor if they refused to comply.

On Tuesday, Bondi said that efforts to crack down on immigration enforcement would increase in Boston, quoting the lack of efforts from WU to demand non -document immigrants.

“As a result of the Mayor’s decision to side with the threat of public safety to citizens who obey law, DOJ will not have an option other than increasing efforts in the city of Boston. Criminals will be prosecuted, illegal aliens will be arrested, and justice will be served,” Bondi posted on X.
