Pope Francis was laid to rest on Saturday at Basilika St. Mary Major in Rome after death at the age of 88 on April 21.

More than 250,000 people apparently said goodbye to the Roman Catholic Church Pope -266. The crowd in the field of St. Peter in the Vatican, including many young people and world leaders, gave us some important snapshots from our political moments.

Francis is remembered as ‘Pope among people’

“He established direct contact with individuals and people, wanting to be close to everyone, with real attention to those who are difficult, giving himself without measurement, especially for those who are marginalized, at least among us,” Re said.

“He is a pope among people, with a heart that is open to everyone. He is also a Pope who pays attention to the signs of the times and what is built by the Holy Spirit in the Church.”

Young people play an important role in the funeral of Pope Francis

The outbreak of Pope Francis resonated with the younger generation, thousands of them were present at the Saint Peter field to lament the deceased’s whale during his funeral on Saturday morning.

Acutis, an Italian teenager known for his service to the Eucharist, will become the first “millennial” saint above canonization, which was officially approved by Francis in July 2024.

Gussie worked as a journalist at the Vatican News and completed a bachelor’s degree in theology at Mount St. Mary’s University. He also has a license degree in church communication from the university of the Roman Papal from the Holy Cross.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was present with his wife Olena Zelenska, received a applause from the crowd in the field of St. Peter appeared on the screen around the area.

Zelenskyy had led Ukraine during the country’s war with Russia, which increased in 2022 after the Russian invasion of Eastern Europe.

President Donald Trump meets personally with Zelenskyy before the funeral and has a “very productive session,” Director of Communication of White House Steven Cheung told Press Pool traveling with Trump.

It was the first meeting between the two men since their controversial February meeting at the Oval office, where Trump and Vice President JD Vance reprimanded Zelenskyy for handling his war.

First Lady Melania Trump joined the president at the cemetery. Former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden attended the funeral as well, sitting about four rows behind Trump.

Bells Toll When the coffin was brought back to Basilica

The coffin carrying Pope Francis was brought through the holy door of Santo Peter’s Basilica for the last time when the bell sounded for the Pope throughout the Vatican.

The funeral, which lasted more than two hours, ended with a bell rang for the whale. The coffin was brought to the Basilica of Rome from Saint Mary Major where he was laid.

Thousands of Roads for Rome for the Francis Pope’s funeral procession

The four -mile route between Basilica St. Peter and the last resting place of Pope Francis-Basacika St. Mary Major in Rome is fulfilled with tens of thousands of mourners after her funeral on Saturday morning.

People can be seen crying and clapping when Francis’s coffin passes.

Francis’s coffin was placed on the bed of a white pickup truck, where it was seen by thousands of people lined up on the streets. The procession brought the Pope’s body through several historical landmarks of Rome, such as the Roman Forum and Colosseum.

When Pope Francis arrived at Saint Mary Major Basilica, that was the last time he was seen in public before his burial. Basilica will be reopened for visitors again on Sunday.
