House Republicans are tiring all the legislative devices to prevent future votes regarding the revocation of President Donald Trump – doubling their support for administrative policies.

GOP leaders on Wednesday put the language into the “rules” for the budget blueprint that will prohibit the DPR, until at least September, from forcing voting on the law to cancel the authority of the Trump national emergency.

“The rule stipulates that every day during the period from 9 April 2025, until 30 September 2025, it will not be a calendar day for the purpose of Article 202 of the National Ecarury Act (50 USC 1622) in connection with a joint resolution that ended the national emergency declared by the President on April 2, 2025,” the rules declare.

Parliament speaker Mike Johnson took a question from a reporter during a press conference after the Caucus Meeting of the Republic of the House of Representatives in the US Capitol, April 8, 2025 in Washington.

DPR Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., Defending the move, told reporters, “I have made it very clear, I think the President has executive authority. This is the right level of authority to handle unfair trade practices. That is part of the role of the president is negotiating with other countries.”

Johnson said Trump told him Tuesday night that “There are almost 70 countries [in] Several stages in the negotiations of a more just trade agreement with the United States. I think it’s for the benefit of the American people. I think it is a ‘first American’ policy that will be effective, and so we have to give them space to do it. “

Democrat House, led by Rep. Gregory Meeks, DN.Y., moved to force the voting on Tuesday about ending the national emergency authority and blocking the tariff of sweeping Trump. Now, the vote is impossible.

This is the second time Johnson moved to stop the legislative calendar to prevent votes over Trump’s authority at the tariff. Under the DPR’s rules, these votes will usually appear within 15 calendar days but now it will not be if the “rules” passed during the Suara series Wednesday afternoon.

“I think you have to give him space,” Johnson argued about Trump’s tariff. “This has the desired effect now. You see a number of countries in the future and propose more free trade agreements with the United States. The American people deserve it.”
