The administrative border of Trump Tom Toman Homan criticized the journey of Senator Chris Van Hollen to El Salvador to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia who was deported, accused the Democrats of traveling “with taxpayers of taxpayers to meet with members of the MS-13 gang, the threat of public safety, [and] terrorist.”
“What my concern is that Van Hollen has never gone to the border for the past four years under Joe Biden,” Homan said in a Friday interview with the “This Week” Co-dashor Jonathan Karl, which aired on Sunday. “What surprised me was that he remained silent in the parody that occurred on the southern border. Many people died, thousands of people died.”
In a separate interview on “This Week,” Van Hollen, D-MD. Responding to Homan’s criticism, said that he had long supported the violence of gangs.
“[Homan] Lying on his teeth in many places in it – in that note. And I really fought with MS-13, maybe longer than Donald Trump who had said the name MS-13. During the 20 years in this region, I helped stand anti-Gugin anti-gang assignments. But the idea that you cannot defend the rights of people under the constitution and against MS-13 and gang violence is a very dangerous idea. That is the idea that the President wants to extinguish. That’s why they spread all these lies. “

Abrego Garcia, a native of Salvador who lives in Maryland, is deported with the famous Mega-Prison El Salvador in March. The White House accused him of being a member of the MS-13 gang, who was designated as a “foreign terrorist organization” by administration; His lawyer and his family denied he was affiliated with the gang.
Abrego Garcia received a protective court order in 2019 which prohibited him deported to El Salvador for fear of his safety. In submitting a court, immigration and customs enforcement have admitted that he should not be sent to El Salvador, calling it “administrative error.” The Supreme Court has reinforced orders that say that government must “facilitate” its return to the US
Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador last week and met with Abrego Garcia, whose wife was a US citizen and Constituent Van Hollen’s, on Thursday after initially rejected access.
Van Hollen stressed that for him, this case was about protecting constitutional rights, telling Karl, “I did not defend the man. I defended the rights of this person for the process he should.”
But Homan maintains the government’s actions so far, with the reason that under the Enemy of Alien 1798, the government asked to deport hundreds of Venezuelan migrants including Abrego Garcia, the right to be more limited.
“I support the facts, I think we do the right things here. We eliminate the threat of public safety, national security threats, cruel gang members from the United States,” Homan said. “We have followed the constitution. We have followed the law. I am sure that everything we have done is to follow the law in constitutional construction, of course.”
He continued, “The length of the process that should not be the same under the law of alien enemies. That is why alien enemy laws were created. President Trump summoned the authorities he had under the alien enemy law, an action written and passed by the congress and signed by a president. We used laws to these books.”
Homan’s defense of the centuries of the law in his Friday interview came only a few hours before the Supreme Court while stopping its use to deport every Venezuelan who was detained at a facility in North Texas.
Karl pressed Homan on the rights of the legal process of non -deported immigrants, quoting Flores 1993 v. The Supreme Court Reno written by conservative judges Antonin Scalia who recorded, “It has been well determined that the fifth amendment gives an alien title for the deported legal process.”
“Do you say that by requesting the law of alien enemies that immigrants who are not documented are not entitled to the rights of the legal process under the fifth amendment?” Karl asked.
“We follow the rules of the alien enemy law. Once again, I think this government has followed the law. They use the law imposed by the congress, signed by a president, to remove terrorists from this country.
Homan also denies that every migrant is labeled with gang members solely due to tattoos. On Friday, Trump posted a photo on social media about what he said was Abrego Gracia’s hand. The MS-13 symbol seems to be accumulated and it is unclear whether other tattoos have a link to the gang.
“Tattoos are one of the many factors that will determine someone in the gang. That is not the only one,” said Homan. “What I said was that you could not ignore the tattoo. That is, that’s one more factor that makes you believe that it might be a gang member. It is not based on tattoos. This is based on many other things, but tattoos, one of many. But nothing is deleted just because of the tattoo.”
