Thousands of federal workers throughout the country have been forced out of their work by Trump’s administration because the Government’s Efficiency Department Elon Musk said it was aimed at increasing the government and reducing waste.

From Park Rangers and the Department of Social Workers Affairs of Veterans to Scientists and Foreign Relations Experts, workers have very important experience and knowledge for their fields.

With the wealth of knowledge and experience, labor and security experts told ABC News that those who fired federal workers were recruited by private companies and foreign governments, which they said increased the risk of security threats to the United States.

“From the perspective of intelligence and law enforcement, the potential of foreign intelligence forces to recruit government workers is hot,” said John Cohen, an ABC news contributor and former Deputy Minister of Intelligence at the Department of Domestic Security.

At the same time, the state and local government can step to fill their office with that talent when President Donald Trump is trying to divert many roles and responsibilities of the federal government.

“This will be an easy transition for them and, in the end, beneficial to the public, who requires their current experience,” Victor Narro, a professor of labor studies at the Labor Center at the University of California, Los Angeles, told ABC News.

Mature workers for taking by the private sector

Narro, who has worked on the Los Angeles City Public Council and Commission and in the US International Development Project, said that one of the biggest things ignored in mass dismissal of Doge is the fact that many of these employees have strong training from top universities and choose to have a career in public offices instead of the private sector.

“Many public sector employees hand over work in the private sector because they care about being public workers,” he said. “They all know they can make more money and have more benefits.”

What might lack the salaries of federal workers, they can make connections with policy makers and organizations, as well as access to government data and knowledge. It is common for federal workers who leave the public sector to bring that knowledge to private sector work, such as consulting companies that are specialized in the environment, national security and health care, said Cohen.

The mass shooting of federal workers that has never happened before can cause the creation of a new private sector organization consisting of the workers, said Cohen.

“It would be difficult to think that the employee would not be in demand,” he said.

In fact, billionaire Mark Cuban submitted an idea at A post On March 1, workers who were fired together and started their own consulting company.

“This is just a matter of time before Doge requires you to improve the chaos they definitely make. They must employ your company as a contractor to fix it. But with your requirements. I like to invest and/or help,” Host Shark Tank wrote.

There has been no public update regarding the Cuba proposal since the post on March 18.

Foreign national threats increase

Cohen said the Cuban proposal had several advantages, but he warned that not everyone who offered a helping hand would have altruistic intentions.

In fact, he warned the offer could be very well designed by foreign enemies.

Cohen said the counter -intelijen operations throughout history had targeted disabled federal employees who were left hopeless and without means to pay off their expenses and debts.

Every worker who is fired, from the one in the social security administration, who has knowledge of the US allowance system, to nuclear engineers, can be the perfect asset for intelligence institutions in Russia, China and other countries, said Cohen.

In addition, general knowledge about how it works in a federal office, high -ranking personality and other information can attract enemies, he said.

“It’s not just valuable secret information,” he said.

Cohen said Trump and Musk underestimate federal workers as lazy, inefficient and useless for the government to help facilitate foreign recruiters to create their cases.

“This is a standard recruitment tool. You find a sense of complaint, you fan fire and make them work together because they are angry at what they are doing,” he said.

The same operation has also found success through more shady tactics, said Cohen.

He noted that there were cases in which federal employees were unconsciously working for foreign governments disguised as US private companies or had worked closely with legitimate companies that had been operating in the US, obscuring evidence of foreign interventions.

“This can be something simple like offering someone to write a research paper and pay a lot for it or give a speech at a conference,” Cohen said. “From there, it can lead to something long.”

Governor Massachusetts Maura Healey told reporters at the news conference this week that this was played in his state, saying on Wednesday, “What happens is you have another government, from China, from the Middle East, from all over the world, which will come to this country. We will delete you. We will take the lab. A staff. And you can pioneer new technology on our beach.”

“That doesn’t prioritize America,” he added.

Usually, the Federal government asks workers to conduct thorough tests and refrain from working with anyone who seems to have a foreign government ties, but Cohen said it would be difficult to hold a large scale of policies.

“The government must depend on one’s patriotism and their ethical sense to voluntarily not support the Department of Foreign Intelligence. But very often, one may not know they are recruited,” he said.

State, local government to save?

Recruitment efforts, however, are not limited to foreign entities and private companies. The state and local governments are now trying to fill their offices with moved talent.

Earlier this month, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the “You’re Hired” campaign, which encouraged federal workers who were fired to go to New York and apply for jobs in various state institutions. The state places advertisements at the Union Station that directs them to the website with state work offers.

“We are looking for quality and experienced candidates in various fields. I need technology, I need engineers, I need lawyers, health workers, educators, public policy experts and more,” Hochul told reporters at a press conference on March 3.

“I compete for top lawyers, top engineers [and] People to work in the financial service department, “he added.” In a place like New York City, there is a lot of higher paid jobs. So these are special people who walk away from the job and the opportunities and come here, and I want to tell them that we will take care of them. “

On March 18, more than 200 people registered for webinar organized by the Department of Manpower of the State of New York, according to the Governor’s Office.

Governor Maryland Wes Moore, a Democrat, and Governor of Virginia Glenn Yookan, a Republican, has started a similar campaign.

Narro said that it was not surprising that local governments would take the opportunity to fill their offices, given that many now strengthen additional responsibilities after the doge slaughtering.

At the same time, there is no guarantee that the local government can accept all the workers, he said.

“Many depend on the country. You have a better opportunity to get public jobs in New York versus Iowa because of the number of offices, departments and finally the budget,” Narro said.

Cohen and Narro added that Trump’s promise to give more strength to the state, especially education, but there are no details about how they will get funds to do so have also left many states in the Limbo when they come to the recruitment.

“It is very good that the state will come with these programs, but if they cannot do, you will have more frustrated federal workers,” Cohen said.

Can the damage be canceled?

Narro noted that the situation with fed -fired federal workers was still liquid when the court case was played and some shootings had been stopped or reversed.

However, uncertainty can greatly destroy the future of federal labor.

“People’s families depend on stability, and if they cannot follow the changing decisions, they might stop altogether,” Narro said. “I suspect this is what Trump and Musk want to do in their strategy.”

Narro said that even if Trump and Musk’s policies were reversed with future administration, there might be long -term damage.

“In the end, the community lost the most,” he said. “It will be more difficult for anyone to consider handing over personal work and dedicating their talents to serve the public if this is how they will be treated.”
