Firefighters struggled against 175 forest fires that erupted throughout South and North Carolina last night in the midst of windy and dry conditions, threatening homes and encouraging evacuation, the authorities said.
There was an ongoing response operation for more than 175 forest fires that had burned 4,200 hectares of combined throughout the states – including fires that were burned in Horry, Spartanburg, Oconee, Union and Pickens Counties, Marshal said the Fire Department of South Carolina.
One of the biggest forest fires raging on Sunday morning threatened residents in the Carolina forest near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at Horry County, officials said.
Fast fires that spread in the forest of Carolina had burned more than 1,200 hectares on Sunday morning and threatened the Walkers Woods and Avalon communities, according to the South Carolina Forest Commission. The fire is 0% contained, said officials.

The fire also threatened the houses within the limits of Myrtle coastal cities, encouraging more evacuation, officials said.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order on Sunday stating an emergency to support a continuous response to forest fires that damaged his country. This order increases the efforts of sustainable emergency response because firefighters work to accommodate forest fires that affect various regions.
“This emergency ensures that our first respondent, who works tirelessly and risks their lives to protect our community from this forest fire, has the resources they need,” McMaster said in a statement.
On Saturday night, McMaster announced that the prohibition of burning throughout the state was valid.

“That means you can and will go to prison for starting an outdoor fire in South Carolina, Titik,” McMaster said in a social media post on Saturday night.
On Sunday, McMaster added, “Dangerous fire conditions require that the prohibition of burning throughout the state remains valid until further notification.”
The cause of Carolina forest fires is being investigated. The flames erupted in the middle of a gust of wind up to 40 mph and a very dry condition, a firefighter said.
The fire at the Horry County in the north of the Carolina forest has burned more than 300 hectares on Sunday morning and caught fire outside of control, officials said.
The warning of the danger of red flag fires was issued throughout South Carolina and a ban on burning throughout the state was ordered.
“That means you can and will go to prison for starting a fire outdoors in South Carolina, Titik,” South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said in a social media post on Saturday night.
“Our first respondent risked their lives to hold a lot of fires in South Carolina tonight,” he added.

Another big fire of about 35 southern miles of Myrtle beach broke Saturday and threatened houses at Georgetown County, South Carolina, and encouraged evacuation in the City of Prince George, officials said.
The fire, according to the Fire Department, Prince George, has grown to more than 800 hectares on Sunday morning, but firefighters get excellent over the fire and almost all evacuations have been appointed, officials said.
Fire is being investigated.
Prince George Fire blazed in the area where firefighters made burn that was prescribed or controlled earlier this week near the Arcadia plantation, according to Jackie Broach, a spokesman for Georgetown County.
At PcCens County, South Carolina, another fire burned Sunday morning in the six -mile mountain area, encouraging evacuation, according to the Sheriff Pickens County office.
Firefighters quickly responded to the six -mile mountain fire, stopping him from spreading to the house, according to the Sheriff office. The fire was 85% contained after burning nearly 300 hectares, said officials.
At Polk County, North Carolina, near the border with South Carolina, a fast-moving brush fire was turned on right after 14:00 local time on Saturday and grew last night, threatening the cities of Melrose, Tryon and Saluda, where the evacuation order must be issued, according to the Saluda Fire and Rescue Department.
The Polk Regency fire began at around 1:30 noon on Saturday, caused by the electric channel that fell near Highway 176, officials said. At 9 pm on Saturday, the flames had spread to 400 hectares without reported detention, according to firefighters.

Dry and windy conditions triggered a red flag warning in most southeast on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the red flag warnings ended on Sunday morning when the wind was calm.
But other areas in the southwest are preparing for critical fire weather on Sundays and Monday, including New Mexico and Texas sections.
