The flash flood emergency was issued for several parts of northwestern Maryland on Tuesday, where severe floods caused evacuation of two elementary schools.
Flash flood emergency was issued for Westernport, Luke and Barton at Allegany County, where up to 5 inches it rained on Tuesday afternoon. Rainfall levels up to 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Many water rescue has occurred, including in two elementary schools at Allegany County, officials said.

Around 200 students and teachers were evacuated from the Westernport Elementary School in Westernport by motorized boat to the nearest church, Allegany Regency officials were confirmed to ABC News.
All students and staff were evacuated safely, according to the Department of Emergency Services of Allegany Regency. The Sheriff Office of Allegany Regency led the evacuation efforts and the Maryland State Police to help the re -unification of students.
Students at Georges Creek Elementary in Lonaconing are also being evacuated to the nearest high school, the Department of Emergency Services of Allegany Regency said Tuesday afternoon.
Students at Westmar Middle School in Lonaconing take refuge in the spot, the department said. Family reunification has been delayed due to the ongoing road closure caused by flooding, the government source told ABC News. No injury is reported at this time.

Regional officials urged drivers to avoid all flooded roads and do not try to drive through inundation water.
“Severe floods currently have an impact on Georges Creek and the surrounding area in the Allegany area due to increased water level,” said the Department of Emergency Services in Allegany Regency at a social media post on Tuesday afternoon. “Some areas have been evacuated.”

More than 15 million Americans throughout the Atlantic are still alert to floods and heavy rain from Tuesday to Wednesday.
A flood watch still applies to parts of North-East-North-North-North-North-North-Central-North-Central-Virginia, East West-Middle Mary and Pennsylvania Virginia until Wednesday morning. That includes Raleigh cities, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; and Hagerstown, Maryland.
Heavy rain and rain bags are expected to continue from North Carolina to Pennsylvania on Tuesday to Wednesday. Some of these heavier pockets can display strong to severe storms that are able to produce hail, destructive wind gusts, and isolated tornado, especially for North East Carolina and East Virginia.
A heavier rain bag will be more focused on Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, with brighter rain in the surrounding area.
