Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program -Cindy McCain’s nation emphasized the needs of “direct” and ceasefire in Gaza.
That is a tragedy. And what we need right now is direct ceasefire, complete access, not restrained, along with a safe fence, every gate is open, to feed people and stop this disaster so that it does not happen. If we don’t do that, it will be Peastrophe Humanitarian.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) began to provide assistance this week after 11 weeks of embargo. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on May 19 that Israel, “with our American friends,” Creating “System with Distribution Center” that will be “secured by IDF, prevents Hamas from reaching the area.”
GHF has been criticized by the United Nations and other aid groups because of its distribution method. Photos and videos from Gaza show a long queue of Palestinians waiting for help. The United Nations -nation warned that Gaza was close to hunger.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 31 people were killed and 200 were injured when Israel fired at the GHF assistance distribution center located in Rafah. In a statement posted to X, Israeli defense forces said, “At this stage, there were no victims known from IDF Shuckre” on the site. “The problem is still under investigation.”
“They do not have almost enough access points. They almost have no enough food. And – And therefore – the nuances of despair, you can see it in the video, very – very disappointing,” McCain said. “I mean, for all of us who do this, you know, this is what we do. We – we – we – we understand what is needed and we understand the complexity. But we also understand the serious human needs – which is now.”

Stephanopoulos: Do you have coordination at all this week with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation?
McCain: No, I have not been personally. I know that there are several meetings that have occurred around – around – Europe, especially on some ways. But we have – we haven’t seen a plan yet. We have become part of the several meetings. Some of them have never been. But again, we don’t see the plan. And, see, we will work with anyone to feed. This – this is a type of thing that, at this level of despair, we must work together to try to feed people. So – so this is not about not wanting to work with other people. We need access. We need Israeli people to let us enter so we can do our work. And we do it – we are the best in what we do, I can add. And we who – we – we can – we can not only enter, but we can enter the scale, most importantly at this time.

Stephanopoulos: Is it a lie that people have died from a piece of aid?
McCain: Yes, you know, I will not – will pretend to understand what is happening in – the US government at this special point. I know what I see on the ground, not only in Gaza but throughout the world. There are places like Sudan, Congo DRC, other places, South Sudan, and they -they are in the same problem as this. We need to get help, in Gaza, and we need to get it now to avoid this disaster.
