A suspect carried out a “heinous” attack on a pedestrian mall in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday afternoon, making many people injured, including some who seemed to have a life -threatening injury.
While the details were not immediately clear, the police said the attack occurred where pro-Israeli demonstrations were being carried out and that the injuries were consistent with those who were burned. A suspect was detained without an incident, said the police.
FBI Director Kash Patel said officials were investigating the incident as “targeted terror attacks.”
The FBI believes that the attack is “ideologically motivated by violence,” according to “preliminary information, evidence and witness accounts,” Deputy Director and Bongino added.

The police at Boulder, Colorado, responded to the attack at the Pearl Street Mall that they said left several victims. A suspect was detained, said the police.

Pro-Israeli demonstrations are running for their lives, which aims to increase awareness about the remnants of hostages in Gaza. The organization is hosting the Global Run and Walk event, “calling for the release of the hostage immediately held by Hamas,” according to his website.
Leo Terrell, Head of the Antisemitism Task Force in the Department of Justice, said that the “burner” was thrown at participants in their escape for their lives.
“This is not an isolated incident,” continued Terrell. “This antisemitic terrorist attack is part of a terrible and increasing wave of violence that targets Jews and supporters only because they become Jews or defend Jewish life,” he said.
The attack occurred on the eve of the Jewish holiday, Shavuot, “making it even more terrible and cruel,” said Terrell.
A spokesman for the organization, Miri Kornfeld, said in a statement to ABC News that five people were burned, including an old woman whose clothes were burned. Boulder police did not have the right number of victims, their condition or how they were injured.
KORNFELD – which was not on the event when the attack took place – said a man who led the way to describe the scene as “the floor burned under them.”
All events that will come for their lives have been canceled until further notice, said Kornfeld.

“Any action that is filled with hatred is unacceptable. While the details arise, the state works with local and federal law enforcement to support this investigation,” the policy wrote in X.
Boulder police, calling the attack as “tragedy” and “unacceptable,” not yet at the point of giving a label of terror, said Head Stephen Redfearn.
The incident occurred exactly before 13:30 on Sundays at the 13th Street and Pearl Street intersection.
The police responded to reports about a man with weapons and people were burned.
When they arrived, there were several victims at the scene with injury consistent with burns, the police said. The police are still investigating how the injuries occurred, according to Redfearn.
The police said the scene had been contained but had evacuated the area from Broadway to the west, Pine Street to North and 16th Street to the east and Walnut Street in the south.
The scene is not safe, said Redfearn.
While the police said it was still too early to speculate about the motive of the suspect, the attack on Boulder came when the violence increased, including the high profile incident against the Jewish community.
Last month, two staff of the Israeli embassy were shot and killed in Washington, DC in what was labeled as “acts of terror.”
The shooting triggered anger and had been condemned as an “unspeakable” antisemitism act after officials said the suspect, who was detained, shouted “free Palestine, free” after the shooting.
In April, the residence of the Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, who was a Jew, was the target of a burning perpetrator who allegedly made two Molotov cocktails from the Heineken bottle he had at home and threw him into the governor’s mansion after breaking the window with Palu, according to court documents.
The attack occurred after the governor posted about celebrating Easter with his family.
