London – At least 31 people were killed and more than 200 people were injured after Israeli troops opened fire near the distribution location of aid to the west of Rafah in the South Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health in the area managed by Hamas.
In a statement posted to X, Israeli defense forces said, “At this stage, there were no victims known from IDF Shuckre” on the site. “The problem is still under investigation,” he added.
Local witnesses quoted by the Associated Press suggested that the shooting occurred around 1,000 meters from the location of aid, which was run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation supported by the US and Israel.
A GHF spokesman told ABC News Sunday that “all assistance was distributed today without incidents” and that death and injury reports “were incorrect and made -made.”
