Trump’s administration has asked the US Supreme Court for an Emergency Court order to block the process in a case involving requests for freedom of information looking for information from the government efficiency department.

The Government Supervisory Group for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington sued the budget beating agent earlier this year for public access to records and plans to overhaul the government.

Administration has claimed the executive privilege, insisting that DOGE – as the President’s Advisory Council – is not subject to FOIA.

The Federal Court Session This case is scheduled to continue with deposition and document production as part of the hearing to determine whether FOIA applies.

Lawyer General John Sauer told the court that such efforts defeated the purpose of litigation and effectively exposed information on private executive branches.

The Supreme Court was seen in Washington, January 10, 2025.

A crew representative, responding to administrative requests for an order, said in a statement, “While Doge continues to fight transparency at every level of justice, we hope to submit our case that the Supreme Court must join the District Court and the Appeal Court in allowing the discovery to advance.”

A federal judge in March decided that Doge might have to submit to the law of freedom of information.

District judge Chris Cooper decided that the executive order of President Donald Trump, his public statement about DOGE, and the “Substantial Authority of the Federal Government Federal Government” was sufficient to determine that Doge was likely to be subject to FOIA, which gave media organizations and the public the right to access the records of the federal government.
