A key figure accused of suicide bombing August 2021 who targeted US troops in Abbey Gate during withdrawal from Afghanistan emerged in Federal Courts in Virginia after extradition to the US to the US to the US to the US
Mohammad Sharifullah, described by the Department of Justice as ISIS-K operative, made the first short performance hearing on Wednesday afternoon at the Alexandria Federal Court allegedly regulating the attack that killed 13 US military soldiers and around 160 civilians.
Sharifullah spoke softly when he answered the judge’s question about whether he understood his constitutional rights. Through a translator, he acknowledged the federal accusation he faced – conspiring to provide material support to terrorist groups, which brought a maximum sentence of life if punished.
He was flanked by three US Marshal during the trial.
The judge ordered the detention and preliminary hearing for Monday. The government will look for its constant detention waiting for the trial.

The new Pakistani special forces arrested Sharifullah along the Pakistani/Afghanistan border, according to a Pakistani intelligence official who was familiar with the operation. He was extracted to the US on Tuesday night, according to the Director of FBI Kash Patel.
During an interview with an FBI agent on Sunday at a secret location, Sharifullah allegedly acknowledged his involvement in three main terror attacks, including those in the Abbey Gate, according to criminal complaints.
Sharifullah was allegedly helping in planning the Abbey gate operation, including supervising the route for attackers near Hamid Karzai International Airport, according to the complaint.
Sharifullah also allegedly revealed that he played a role in suicide bombings targeting the US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, in June 2016 which killed 10 guards of embassies and injured other soldiers who guarded the Canadian embassy, according to complaints.
As part of his service for ISIS-K, Sharifullah is suspected of supervising “so he can prepare suicide bombers and transport it to the target area” in Kabul, according to complaints.
The bomber then used the “body world worn by an improvised explosion device to carry out attacks,” said the complaint.
Sharifullah also allegedly claimed to play a role in the ISIS-K attack on a concert place near Moscow in March 2024 which killed more than 130 people, according to complaints.
The suspect is allegedly involved in more than 30 terror attacks, according to Pakistani intelligence officials.
He was in prison in Afghanistan from 2016 to 2021, according to the official.
It is believed that he was released by the Taliban on days to decrease when the Republic of Afghanistan was destroyed.
